OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bergh had a monster weekend to lead Colorado College to a home sweep of Alaska-Anchorage, CC’s first sweep since Dec. 4-5, 2015, as he racked up five points in the two games, including four goals. In Friday’s 6-1 victory, he set up the Tigers’ third goal and scored the fourth goal for a two-point night, while posting a +3 plus-minus. The next night, Bergh recorded his first career hat trick and CC’s first since Jan. 4, 2013, doing so naturally after CC fell behind 1-0, as he scored once in each period, including the first two goals on the power play. He then scored the eventual game-winner early in the final frame as UAA added a late goal in the Tigers’ sweep-clinching 3-2 victory. Bergh was also +1 on Saturday and fired 10 shots on goal as he was named the game’s First Star. Along with his offense, Bergh went 19-17 in the faceoff circle, winning 52.8 percent of his draws in the series. He finished the weekend +4 with 11 shots on goal.

Defenseman of the Week

Jimmy Schuldt, St. Cloud State

For the second straight week, Schuldt was a force all over the ice, recording five points and posting a +3 plus-minus in SCSU’s sweep of Alaska. On Friday, the team captain led the Huskies from a three-goal deficit to a 6-3 win over Alaska, scoring two goals and adding an assist. Schuldt scored both of his goals on the power play, potting SCSU’s second and fourth goals, with his second goal the game-winner that put SCSU up 4-3. He also assisted on an empty-netter to seal the comeback win, was +3 and put six shots on goal as he was named First Star of the Game. In the series finale, Schuldt was named the game’s Second Star after his third straight multi-point game to start the year, again scoring on the power play to open Saturday’s game, while setting up the tying goal in the third period to make it 2-2 in an eventual 5-4 overtime win. Schuldt finished the series with three goals, two assists, a +3 plus-minus and put seven shots on goal. He also blocked three shots and led an SCSU penalty kill that was 5-for-6 against the Nanooks.
