On day eight of the 2026 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament, the second overall semifinal is up for voting, which will decide the Save of the Year in the NCHC.
The Save of the Year final on Thursday features a pair of stellar stops from Western Michigan sophomore goalie Hampton Slukynsky. In Week 5, Slukynsky makes a triple-save against St. Cloud State from point-blank range, while in the NCAA Regional Semifinals he makes a sprawling toe save on a rebound against Minnesota State.
The first overall semifinal from Wednesday was won by St. Cloud State junior forward Barrett Hall, who scored the Goal of the Year in the NCHC. In the Goal of the Year final, Hall narrowly clipped Denver's Brendan McMorrow with 57 percent of the 1,150 votes cast. Hall's goal will go up against whichever Slukynsky save is deemed Save of the Year in the NCHC Play of the Year Championship on Friday.
