2026 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament: Semifinals - Day 7

Match-up for April 22 is the Goal of the Year final between SCSU's Hall and Denver's McMorrow

On day seven of the 2026 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament, the first overall semifinal is up for voting, which will decide the Goal of the Year in the NCHC.

The Goal of the Year match-up features St. Cloud State junior Barrett Hall weaving through the North Dakota defense for a stellar short-handed goal in Week 10, going up against Denver freshman Brendan McMorrow, who uses a spin-o-rama to get past Miami and score a short-handed snipe in traffic in Week 10.

The last two quarterfinal match-ups on Tuesday were both won by Western Michigan sophomore goalie Hampton Slukynsky. In the first Save of the Year semifinal, Slukynsky defeated Denver's Johnny Hicks with 89 percent of the vote, while in the other match-up, Slukynsky topped Colorado College's Kaidan Mbereko with 85 percent of the vote. Slukynsky's two saves will meet in the second overall semifinal tomorrow (Thursday), which will determine the Save of the Year in the NCHC.

Video for today's Goal of the Year final is below with the poll to vote below the video. Voting will remain open until Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, when the Save of the Year final will be posted and today's winner is announced. The winner of today's match-up advances to the NCHC Play of the Year final on Friday, April 24.
