2025 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament: First Round - Day 3

Match-ups for April 18 feature Miami's Bruveris vs. ASU's Shlaine and Denver's Buium vs. WMU's Michaels

On day three of the 2025 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament our third set of first-round match-ups are available for fan voting. The first match-up Friday is a save and a goal that both came at Denver, while the other match-up is a pair of snipes going head-to-head.

Friday's first duel features Miami goalie Bruno Bruveris making an unreal glove save at Denver in Week 13, going up against Arizona State's Artem Shlaine, who uses a nifty move and some speed to score against the Pioneers in Week 8.

In the second first-round match-up Friday, Denver defenseman Zeev Buium shakes a man and scores on a snipe in the Frozen Faceoff championship, while Western Michigan's Owen Michaels rips a goal after some dazzling stickwork at Colorado College in Week 16.

Winning our first round match-ups from Thursday were Minnesota Duluth goalie Klayton Knapp and Omaha forward Cam Mitchell. Knapp defeated UND's Jackson Kunz with 63 percent of the vote, while Mitchell knocked out a save by DU's Matt Davis with 67 percent of the vote. Knapp and Mitchell will meet in a quarterfinal on Tuesday, April 22.

Videos for both of today's match-ups are below with the poll to vote below each video. Voting will remain open until Monday at 2 p.m. ET, when the final two first-round match-ups are posted and today's winners are announced. Today's winners move on to meet in a quarterfinal on April 23. The entire bracket (with schedule) can be seen at the bottom of the page.
