38 NCHC Student-Athletes Tabbed 2023-24 AHCA Krampade All-American Scholars

All eight NCHC schools represented, with at least three from each team earning a 3.75 GPA all season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Honored for exceptional performance in the classroom and being a contributor on the ice, 38 National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) student-athletes have been recognized as AHCA Krampade All-American Scholars for the 2023-24 season, as the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced an updated list of honorees on Monday.

A total of 638 Division I hockey players garnered Krampade All-American Scholars in 2023-24, including 343 men and 295 women. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained at least a 3.75 grade-point average for each semester/trimester during the academic year and had to appear in 40 percent of their team’s games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders. Schools are also required to be good-standing members of the AHCA.

For the second straight year, Colorado College led all NCHC teams with 10 All-American Scholars. Only seven other Division I men’s teams had more than CC’s 10 All-American Scholars this past season. Denver and St. Cloud State were next among NCHC teams with five (5) honorees each, while Miami, North Dakota and Omaha each had four (4) All-American Scholars. Minnesota Duluth and Western Michigan had three (3) student-athletes apiece honored by the AHCA as All-American Scholars. Arizona State, which was not part of the NCHC in 2023-24 but will be in 2024-25, had six honorees. To see the complete list of AHCA All-American Scholars, click here.

A trio of NCHC student-athletes became four-time recipients of the AHCA’s All-American Scholars program, all from Omaha: senior Matt Miller and grad students Kirby Proctor and Jack Randl. Among the 38 NCHC All-American Scholars, 10 are three-time honorees, including Colorado College’s Nicklas Andrews, Tyler Coffey and Logan Will, Denver’s Matt Davis and Carter King, North Dakota’s Louis Jamernik V, Omaha’s Nolan Sullivan, St. Cloud State’s Josh Luedtke, and Western Michigan’s Jacob Bauer and Daniel Hilsendager. Twelve (12) other NCHC student-athletes were named All-American Scholars for a second time.

A handful of the NCHC’s All-American Scholars have also earned other prestigious academic or athletic honors in 2023-24. CC’s Noah Laba, who earned All-American Scholars for the first time, was one of only four male All-American Scholars who also was named a CCM/AHCA All-American in 2023-24. He and Minnesota Duluth’s Ben Steeves were the lone All-NCHC honorees on the ice to land All-American Scholars honors, as well. Omaha’s Proctor was also named the recipient of the NCHC’s annual Postgraduate Scholarship this year. Laba, Denver’s Davis, King and Kent Anderson, and Steeves were all also selected Academic All-America finalists by College Sports Communicators (CSC).

The NCHC announced its initial 2023-24 Academic All-Conference Team and Distinguished Scholar-Athletes in February, while eligible freshmen and first-year transfers will be added to those lists later in July. A total of 112 NCHC student-athletes were honored initially in February for having at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, while 69 were also recognized as NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athletes with a 3.5 GPA or better.
