2024 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament: Quarterfinals - Day 5

Match-ups for April 8 feature CC's Noah Laba vs. WMU's Cameron Rowe and CC's Stanley Cooley vs. Omaha's Ty Mueller

Heading into the second week of the 2024 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament, our first two quarterfinal match-ups are available for fan voting. The first match-up pits a short-handed goal and a save against each other, while the other has two goals going head-to-head.

In the first quarterfinal on Monday, Colorado College's Noah Laba, the NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year, steals the puck from Denver and scores short-handed in Week 21, while Western Michigan goaltender Cameron Rowe makes a sprawling stop against Omaha in Week 17.

In the second quarterfinal on Monday, CC's Stanley Cooley scores on a spin move after a spinning assist from Tommy Middleton against UMD in Week 20, while Omaha's Ty Mueller puts on the moves and dekes to snipe a goal at Denver in Week 7.

Winning our final first round match-ups from Saturday were Minnesota Duluth's Ben Steeves and North Dakota's Riese Gaber. Steeves received 57 percent of the vote to eclipse Miami goalie Bruno Bruveris, while Gaber advanced with 70 percent of the 497 votes over Denver's Massimo Rizzo. Steeves and Gaber will meet in a quarterfinal tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9.

Videos for both of today's quarterfinal match-ups are below with the poll to vote below each video. Voting will remain open until Tuesday at noon ET, when the last two quarterfinal match-ups are posted and today's winners are announced. Today's winners move on to meet in the semifinals on April 10.
