2023 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament: First Round - Day 2

Match-ups for March 30 feature CC's McKown vs. Omaha's Miller and Denver's Mazur vs. SCSU's Okabe/Cruikshank

On day two of the 2023 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament our second set of first-round match-ups are available for fan voting. Both match-ups feature a goal against a goal.

In the first match-up on Thursday, Colorado College's Hunter McKown scores with an unreal move on a penalty shot against Denver in Week 16, while Omaha's Matt Miller steals the puck and dekes defensemen for an unassisted tally against St. Cloud State in Week 20.

In the other first-round match-up Thursday, Denver's Carter Mazur weaves through the North Dakota defense to score a diving goal in Week 18, while St. Cloud State's Zach Okabe sends a no-look pass from the wall to Grant Cruikshank for a goal against Minnesota State in Week 4.

Winning our first two match-ups from Wednesday were CC's McKown with a different goal and North Dakota's Jackson Blake. McKown won with 76 percent of the vote, while Blake topped Denver's Magnus Chrona with 64 percent of the vote. McKown and Blake meet in a quarterfinal on April 3.

Videos for both of today's match-ups are below with the poll to vote below each video. Voting will remain open until Friday at noon ET, when the next two first-round match-ups are posted and today's winners are announced. Today's winners move on to meet in the quarterfinals on April 3. The entire bracket (with schedule) can be seen at the bottom of the page.
