On day two of the 2021 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament, presented by Krampade, our second set of first-round match-ups are available for fan voting.
In the first match-up, Miami freshman netminder Ludvig Persson slides over and robs Western Michigan to retain a one-goal lead with time winding down in the game in week 4, while St. Cloud State forward Jared Cockrell sneaks one into the Omaha net all while falling to the ground in the first week of the NCHC Pod.
In the other first-round match-up Wednesday, North Dakota forward and NCHC Player of the Year Shane Pinto turns the jets on from inside UND's defensive zone, flies by the CC defenseman and finds the back of the net in week 7, while Miami forward Matt Barry buries a blind behind-the-back pass from teammate Phil Knies against CC in week 3.
Winning our first two match-ups from Tuesday were Western Michigan's Ethen Frank and North Dakota's Adam Scheel. Frank topped CC's Dominic Basse with 57 percent of the vote, while Scheel nipped DU's Jake Durflinger with 67 percent of the vote. Frank and Scheel advance to the quarterfinals on March 25-26.
Videos of both of Wednesday's match-ups are below with the poll to vote below each video.
