As we head down the home stretch, we feature our final two quarterfinal match-ups in the 2018 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament, presented by TRIA Orthopaedic Center, with both match-ups Tuesday featuring Denver against St. Cloud State.
In the third quarterfinal, Denver's Henrik Borgström skates in tight to the net and uses a nifty move to score in week 6, while SCSU's Easton Brodzinski finishes a steal and great passing from his teammates in week 16.
In the last quarterfinal, Denver goalie Tanner Jaillet stretches for a ridiculous stick-save in week 19, while SCSU's Mikey Eyssimont uses nifty moves to skate around Minnesota for a goal in week 12.
Winning our first two quarterfinal match-ups were SCSU's Ryan Poehling and UND's Cole Smith. Poehling beat Omaha goalie Evan Weninger with 76 percent of the vote, while Smith topped WMU forward Austin Rueschhoff with 59 percent of the vote. Poehling and Smith meet in one semifinal on March 14.
Videos of both of today's match-ups are below with the poll to vote below each video. Voting will remain open until Wednesday morning, when the first semifinal is posted and today's winners are announced. The winners of today's match-ups will meet in the second semifinal on March 15. The entire bracket can be seen at the bottom of the page.
