On day five of the 2025 NCHC Play of the Year Tournament, we enter the quarterfinal round with the first two quarterfinal match-ups available for fan voting. The first quarterfinal on Tuesday pits a pair of saves against each other, while the other quarterfinal has a stellar stop going against an overtime game-winner.
Tuesday's first match-up features North Dakota goalie T.J. Semptimphelter making a sprawling glove save behind him at Minnesota Duluth in Week 6, going against Colorado College's Kaidan Mbereko, who denies Providence in Week 10 with an off-balance kick save.
In the other quarterfinal match-up today, Minnesota Duluth goalie Klayton Knapp comes up with a sprawling stick save at Omaha in Week 17, while Omaha's Cam Mitchell scores the overtime game-winner against Holy Cross with a nice deke at the 2025 Cactus Cup in Week 12.
Winning our final first-round match-ups on Monday were Western Michigan's Alex Bump and CC's Bret Link. Bump knocked out Denver's Samu Salminen and Eric Pohlkamp with an impressive 91 percent of the vote, while Link moved on with 61 percent of the vote over Arizona State goalie Gibson Homer. Bump and Link will now meet in our last quarterfinal on Wednesday, April 23.
Videos for both of today's quarterfinal match-ups are below with the poll to vote below each video. Voting will remain open until Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET, when the final two quarterfinal match-ups are posted and today's winners are announced. Today's winners move on to meet in the first semifinal on Thursday, April 24. The entire bracket (with schedule) can be seen at the bottom of the page.
