COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) has hired
Logan Spellman as its new Business and Hockey Operations Manager, the NCHC announced on Tuesday. Spellman will begin his role with the Conference office officially this Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Spellman joins the National staff full-time after spending the last four years with USA Hockey, including two full-time. Over the past year, Spellman was promoted to Disabled Hockey and Data Analytics Manager within USA Hockey, after serving as the Adult Hockey Coordinator for USAH the two years prior. He first started with USA Hockey in 2021, completing an internship with disabled hockey.
“The NCHC is thrilled to announce the addition of Logan Spellman as its new Business and Hockey Operations Manager,” NCHC Commissioner Heather Weems said. “Logan brings a wealth of experience in finance, logistics, and analytics from his previous role supporting USA Hockey’s disabled and adult hockey programs.”
Spellman will handle a variety of duties for the NCHC, with a focus on internal operations and revenue growth. He will assist the Commissioner with oversight of all aspects of the conference’s finances, help coordinate travel and hotels for officials and staff, and manage internal conference documents and manuals. In addition, Spellman will help with planning for the NCHC Frozen Faceoff, which moves to campus sites this season, and the NCHC Annual Meeting. He will also be tasked with NCHC office management, apparel and trophy logistics, among other responsibilities.
“Logan’s background and attention to detail will make him a valuable addition to the NCHC’s member services team,” Weems added. “His curiosity and precision will be tremendous assets as we continue to navigate a changing NCAA landscape, grow revenue, and deliver exceptional value to each of our member institutions.”
Spellman is already familiar with the NCHC, working part-time with the conference during the 2024-2025 campaign. This past season with the National, he assisted the Commissioner in managing expense reports, coordinated hotels and began planning for the 2026 NCHC Tournament changing to campus sites, among other tasks.
Spellman received his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) in 2023 with an emphasis on sport management. He is also currently working towards earning his master’s degree (MBA) in finance at UCCS.
Spellman has completed other internships in Colorado with USA Team Handball, USA Triathlon, U.S. Figure Skating, the Denver Broncos and more.
Spellman resides in Colorado Springs, where the NCHC office is headquartered.
