NEW YORK – In coordination with the National Hockey League (NHL), the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) announced Wednesday that this weekend’s season-opening series between Arizona State University and Penn State University will be televised nationally on NHL Network.
The top-15 non-conference showdown between the No. 14 Sun Devils of the NCHC and fifth-ranked Nittany Lions of the Big Ten is set for this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4 at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Ariz. Friday’s season opener is slated for 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. MST, while Saturday’s series finale is set for an 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. MST start.
In addition to being available on NHL Network throughout the United States, both games of the Penn State at Arizona State series will also be broadcast locally on FOX 10 in Phoenix and streamed live worldwide on
NCHC.tv. Tyler Paley will handle play-by-play duties for the series, while Alex Coil will serve as the color analyst.
The NHL Network game feed will be provided by FOX 10, with NHL Network’s studio team presenting all pre-puck drop and post-game coverage, as well as intermission reports for both games. NHL Network host Tony Luftman and analyst E. J. Hradek will provide coverage Friday, while Erika Wachter and Kevin Weekes will have all the news and analysis on Saturday.
