SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) will unofficially drop the puck on its 11th season of competition this Wednesday, Sept. 13 with the Conference’s annual Media Day. NCHC Media Day will once again take place at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn., the home of the 2024 NCHC Frozen Faceoff.
While coaches and student-athletes representing all eight NCHC teams will be in attendance for Media Day, fans can also follow along and participate in Media Day from afar. NCHC Commissioner Heather Weems’ State of the Conference address will be
streamed live for free on NCHC.tv. Fans will also be able to ask questions for the student-athletes during a ‘Twitter Takeover’ of
@TheNCHC and can watch interviews with players on the NCHC’s
Instagram Live channel. Fans can also follow all the action behind-the-scenes at 2023 Media Day on the NCHC’s social media channels, including
Twitter, Instagram and
Facebook.
Media Day gets underway with the student-athletes’ ‘Twitter Takeover’ of the NCHC’s account,
@TheNCHC. Each student-athlete will answer fan questions on the NCHC’s Twitter account for 15 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. CT. Fans may begin submitting questions leading up to Media Day on Twitter by using the listed hashtag next to each student-athlete on the schedule below. The student-athletes will then answer as many questions as they can during their allotted time.

Following the Twitter Takeovers, second-year NCHC Commissioner Heather Weems will begin her State of the Conference address at noon CT, which can be seen live for free on
NCHC.tv through a computer browser or on NCHC.tv mobile or OTT apps. The State of the Conference address will also be archived on NCHC.tv, where it will be available on-demand.
The media portion of the day then begins with NCHC coaches and student-athletes being interviewed by various media. In addition to local, regional and national media, the NCHC’s national television partner, CBS Sports Network, will be in attendance, along with Midco Sports and St. Cloud State’s Husky Productions, to gather interviews and footage for their broadcasts during the season.
Fans will still be able to take part in NCHC Media Day during the afternoon though, as each student-athlete will participate in an
Instagram Live interview. Once the interview begins, fans may ask questions for the student-athletes by commenting on the video. The videos will also be archived on the NCHC’s Instagram page to watch on-demand.

One day ahead of Media Day on Tuesday, Sept. 12, the NCHC Preseason Poll will be revealed. The 2023-24 NCHC Preseason Poll will first be unveiled on Twitter tomorrow (Tuesday) starting at 2:00 p.m. CT with
@TheNCHC counting down the teams from eight to one, allowing fans to follow along. The NCHC Preseason All-Conference Team will be revealed later today (Monday).
While Media Day serves as the unofficial start of the 2023-24 season, the NCHC officially drops the puck on its 11th season on Saturday, Oct. 7 with four non-conference contests and a quartet of exhibition games, as all eight NCHC teams are in action.
