Bauer NCHC Player of the Week Archive
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Following a weekend that saw National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) teams go a combined 8-2-2 in non-conference games, several NCHC players had impressive performances, while three teams are represented among the Bauer NCHC Players of the Week. Claiming Bauer NCHC Players of the Week for the week of Oct. 17-23, 2016 are North Dakota sophomore forward Brock Boeser for Offensive Player of the Week, Miami junior blue liner Louie Belpedio for Defenseman of the Week, Colorado College freshman forward Nick Halloran for Rookie of the Week and Miami freshman netminder Ryan Larkin for Goaltender of the Week.
The award is Boeser’s second this season and third of his career, while he has won seven NCHC weekly honors overall in his career (four-time Rookie of the Week). This is Belpedio’s first Defenseman of the Week honor though he was a two-time NCHC Rookie of the Week. These are Halloran’s and Larkin’s first career NCHC weekly awards.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brock Boeser, North Dakota
Sophomore Forward
Burnsville, Minn.
Boeser racked up five goals to help North Dakota sweep Bemidji State, tallying UND’s first four goals of the series and five of their eight on the weekend. In Friday’s 3-2 victory, the Vancouver Canucks first-round draft pick recorded a natural hat trick, the second hat trick of his career, as he led the Fighting Hawks to overcome a 2-0 deficit, scoring the game-tying goal and game-winner in the third period. He was also named the game’s first star and put eight shots on goal in the win. The next night Boeser added two more goals in a 5-4 victory, again earning First Star of the Game. He finished the series with 12 shots on goal and a plus-3 rating.
Defenseman of the Week

Louie Belpedio, Miami
Junior Defenseman
Skokie, Ill.
Belpedio was a force at both ends of the ice for the RedHawks, tallying three points in a tie and win over Maine, while helping limit the Black Bears to three goals in the series. On Friday, the Minnesota Wild prospect had the primary assist on the game-tying goal in the third period of a 3-3 overtime tie. The next night, the team captain tallied a pair of goals for his first career multi-goal game in a 5-0 shutout, keeping Maine off the board, while extending his point streak to four games. All three of his points came on the power play, while he also led a penalty kill unit that finished 9-for-9 on the weekend. Belpedio put 12 shots on goal in the series with six each night, while logging an even rating and blocking a shot.
Rookie of the Week

Nick Halloran, Colorado College
Freshman Forward
Draper, Utah
Halloran powered Colorado College to a 1-1 record, scoring three of CC’s five goals over the weekend, all on the power play. He opened the scoring in the Tigers’ 4-1 loss at Boston College Friday, putting CC in front only 5:30 into the game. The next night, he tallied his first career multi-goal game with two goals on the man advantage, including the game-winning goal in the third period, which broke a 3-3 tie and lifted the Tigers to a 4-3 win over New Hampshire. Halloran put 13 shots on goal in the two games, including a career-high eight shots in the win at UNH.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

Ryan Larkin, Miami
Freshman Goaltender
Clarkston, Mich.
Larkin backstopped Miami to a tie and a win against Maine, extending his unbeaten streak to four games with a 1-0-1 record. He allowed only three goals on the weekend while compiling a .944 save percentage and a 1.45 goals-against average. On Friday, Larkin made 18 saves in a 3-3 overtime tie, while on Saturday he stopped all 33 shots he faced to pitch his first collegiate shutout in a 5-0 victory. The 33 saves marked a career high while he was named First Star of the Game Saturday, as well. On the weekend, Larkin totaled 51 saves on 54 shots while helping kill all nine Maine power plays in the series.

Offensive Player of the Week
Anthony Louis, Sr., F, Miami – Compiled four points against Maine with two goals in Friday’s tie and a goal and an assist in Saturday’s shutout, tallying the game-winner while putting 15 shots on goal in the series.
Judd Peterson, Jr., F, SCSU – Recorded his first career hat trick in SCSU’s 6-5 come-from-behind overtime win over Minnesota last Friday.
Troy Terry, So., F, Denver – Had a three-point weekend in a sweep at Michigan State, handing out an assist Friday while scoring DU’s first two goals Saturday, including the game-winner, with a plus-3 rating.
Defenseman of the Week
Ian Brady, Sr., D, Omaha – Totaled three points against Vermont with an assist in Friday’s tie, along with a goal and an assist in Saturday’s loss, while blocking four shots in the series.
Dennis Cholowski, Fr., D, SCSU – Assisted on both game-winning goals in a pair of comeback wins in SCSU’s sweep of Minnesota while logging a plus-1 rating.
Tucker Poolman, Jr., D, UND – Tallied three assists in UND’s sweep of Bemidji State while logging a plus-3 rating on the weekend, blocking four shots and helping UND’s penalty kill go 6-for-6.
Rookie of the Week
Henrik Borgström, Fr., F, Denver – Compiled three points and a plus-4 rating in a sweep at Michigan State, having a hand in both goals in Friday’s win, while adding a second assist in the series on Saturday.
Tyson Jost, Fr., F, UND – Handed out three assists in UND’s sweep of Bemidji State and logged a plus-three rating in the series, while winning 63 percent of his faceoffs.
Carson Meyer, Fr., F, Miami – Dished out four assists against Maine, including a career-high three in Saturday’s 5-0 shutout, while logging a plus-3 rating in the series.
Goaltender of the Week
Tanner Jaillet, Jr., G, Denver – Backstopped DU to a sweep at Michigan State, going 2-0 while allowing only one goal in each game for a .950 save percentage and a 1.00 GAA as he totaled 38 saves.
Derek Shatzer, Sr., G, CC – Won his only start of the weekend with 39 saves at New Hampshire Saturday while compiling a 2.07 GAA and a .941 save percentage in two games, entering in relief Friday.
